But who are shilo. we hear you ask? We are a team of experienced, innovative HR thinkers who create bespoke people solutions tailored to our client’s business needs on an on-demand basis. We have been in your shoes as HR professionals ourselves (we may have even worked together); we get what drives you (and drives you bonkers); and we appreciate the changing nature of the world of HR and the need to evolve. Our fabulous team of shilo.consultants support our clients with people projects; create people solutions to future proof businesses; help scale up or grow businesses; and/or provide short-term HR support to fill a resourcing gap… and everything in between.  

We launched our business in March 2020 (I mean… who launches a business heading into a global pandemic?) and are excited to be growing our team of commercial, motivated, collaborativepassionate (and just darn friendly) shilo.consultants in line with our pipeline of client needs.

Consulting Director

The Role

We are looking for a Consulting Director to join the shilo. team to design, develop and lead client engagements in the consulting business. Working closely with the Executive Director of Consulting this role will help shape client proposals and sell consulting engagements. You will also be responsible for managing and overseeing client engagements, including leading and coaching the shilo. Team, to deliver the outcomes required.

As part of the growing shilo. team, the Consulting Director will need to be agile, and accountable within the role and will need to help grow the consulting business, through their own networks and relationships. They will also need to help develop consulting offerings and frameworks to further develop the consulting value proposition.

What you’ll bring

Your natural ability to establish trust will hold you in good stead to help influence the right decisions and outcomes for our clients whilst being able to lead with insight, using your knowledge and experience to draw on trends and data.

To be successful in this position you will have a strong understanding of the HR industry and Consulting market to be credible when speaking with our potential clients and senior stakeholders. You will have worked at Director level in the Management Consulting space and have worked with different sized organisations across multiple industries. You will be a natural relationship builder, a great listener, a great communicator and be able engage with clients to develop proposals and sell engagements.

Some of the key competencies, personal attributes, skills and experience we are looking for are:

  • Building strong client relationships and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to Problem solve and provide solutions
  • Understanding Consulting processes and frameworks
  • Design of deliverables frameworks and outcomes
  • Analysing a business’s strategy and understanding people outcomes required
  • Developing people solutions to meet the business need/opportunity
  • Understanding the latest HR trends
  • Systems thinking and an understanding of People “systems” within organisations
  • Building trusted and credible relationships with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence.
  • Challenging the status quo
  • Working in an agile environment
